Celebrating Ten Years of Hiking!

_______________________________________________________________

San Diego Trail Tramps is a gay men's hiking group dedicated to monthly hikes in San Diego County and beyond. Founded in the Fall of 1998, this is the 10th year of hiking for the group of over 300 members. Each month, this site will carry photos of previous hikes and news of upcoming events. The group's name comes from a New Zealand slang term, "tramp" or "tramping", which roughly means "to hike".

With such a variety of beautiful terrain to cover, San Diego County is fast becoming a hiker's paradise. From coastline beaches to inland valleys, from the mountains to the deserts that lie beyond, there are hiking adventures waiting for everyone. For those interested in learning more about what San Diego County has to offer for hiking, we highly recommend the book "Afoot and Afield in San Diego County" by Jerry Schad.

We meet the 3rd Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. to carpool to the hiking area for a full day's outing. The carpool site is centrally located in the Hillcrest area with plenty of free parking.  We recommend wearing hiking boots and clothing appropriate to the weather. Day packs are useful for carrying your own water, sports drinks, snacks, sunscreen, etc.  Click on the Calendar page for more details on each month's scheduled hike. Email us with specific questions or to get on our email mailing list for reminders of upcoming hikes and other events: cyberhiker @ sbcglobal. net

So! Track us down and come join the fun in the great outdoors of So. Cal.! Meet men of all ages who enjoy the freedom of the trails and get some great exercise to boot!
